Paul Kunz earned his eighth win of the season as the Devils blank the Mallards 10-0.

Mound could not find a way to get anything going against Paul as he scattered six hits over six innings. Mounds only real scoring threat came in the fourth inning when the first three Mallards were able to reach base. However, Paul got a short fly to left, a short fly to right and a strike out to end the scoring opportunity.

While Paul was shutting down the Mound batters, the Mound pitchers were giving up much ground. The Devils were able score a run in the bottom of the third. Dan Boisclair started off the inning with a base hit to right field. Andrew Pratt singled to center to put runners at first and second. KC Johnson’s fly out to center moved Dan up to third. Adam Gregg drove in the winning run with a single to left.

The Devils broke it open in the fifth inning scoring five runs. Andrew Pratt singled to left and KC Johnson walked before Adam Gregg drove in Andrew for the second run of the game. On the play, the left fielder misplayed the ball allowing KC and Adam to move up a base. Andrew Engebretson singled to center to score KC and Adam. Lee Gregg’s ground ball to short was bobbled however, the shortstop was able to get Andrew at second but not Lee at first. Billy Soule replaced Lee first and went on to steal second. Tom Fisk drove in Tom on a triple to right center. Craig Hawkinson drove in Tom with a double for the final run of the inning.

The Devils scored the final four runs of the game in the sixth inning. Andrew Pratt led off the inning with a single to left. KC Johnson was hit by a pitch. Adam Gregg was walked and Andrew Engebretson scored Pratt when he drew a walk. Billy Soule drove in KC with a ground ball to short that forced Andrew at second but the relay was not in time to Billy. Ryan Dwyer scored Adam with a ground ball to second. With Billy on second, Tom Fisk drove in the final run of the game on a base hit.
