The Diamond Devils lose their first ballgame of year against a class B team.

The Devils found themselves trying to catch up to the St. Michael Saints in the bottom of the third as the Saints scored five runs in their half of the inning. Andrew Pratt got it off to a good start with a single to left. Adam Gregg scored Andrew with a triple. The scoring would end in the inning on an Andrew Engebretson two run homerun.

The Devils tied the game in the fourth inning. Dan Boisclair singled to start off the inning. John Hilbelink followed Dan with a base hit. Andrew Pratt laid down a sacrifice bunt to the pitcher to move Dan and John into scoring position. After a fly out to second, Andrew Engretson put the ball into play that would have ended the inning however, an error at first allowed the two runs to score.

The game remained tied until the seventh inning when the Saints scored five runs on four singles, two walks and an error. The Saints went on to score two more runs in the eighth and a final run in the ninth.

The Devils added a run in the bottom of the ninth but it is was too little, too late.
