The Diamond Devils behind the pitching of Paul Kunz defeat the Huskies 7-3.

The Diamond Devils did not have their best day at the park and it resulted in an 8-4 loss to the Loretto Larks.

Sloppy base running the first inning cost the Devils at least one run and possibly more. With Dan Boisclair at second and Adam Gregg at first, Andrew Engebretson crushed a pitch that one hopped the center field fence. Dan scored easily and while Adam was rounding and putting on the brakes Andrew got caught too far off second forcing Adam to make a run at the plate. However, the Larks were able to get Adam after a short rundown. Instead of having two runners in scoring position with one out the next hitter flew out to right to end the inning.

The Devils had another runner thrown out the plate in the second inning. With two outs and Ryan Dwyer at second, TJ Aalid singled to right. The Devils being aggressive on the base paths tried to score Ryan however a good throw from right and the Larks were out of the inning giving up no runs.

The game spiraled out of control from there as the Larks took the lead in the third inning scoring two runs. They expanded the lead scoring two more runs in the forth. From there the only Diamond Devils highlight was TJ Aalid’s two run homerun in the top of the ninth. Too little too late.
