The Diamond Devils had a 3-1 lead going into the ninth but could not hold on losing the game 7-3.

The game started out well for the Devils as they scored two runs in the first. Ryan Dwyer led off the game with a base hit to left. After a fly out center, KC Johnson singled to center putting runners at first and second. With Adam Gregg at the plate, a wild pitched moved the runners up a base before he singled to center scoring both runners.

The Devils scored their final run of the game in the third. Draftee from Albertville, Dave Borchardt started off the inning by walking on a full count. After a fly ball to center, Adam Gregg doubled to right center scoring Dave from first.

Adam Gregg was the starting pitcher for the Devils and gave up one run in the fifth inning. With one out, Deryk Randt walked and was followed by Brad Daak who singled to center. After a wild pitch moved the runners up a base, a ground ball fielded by Adam by first base allowed the runner on third to score.

Adam gave up just the one run while pitching six innings. Chris Harrell pitched the seventh and eighth innings giving up a single and double. Up until the ninth the Bruins only had six hits but that changed in the ninth.

In the ninth the Bruins had just enough on the ball as the first six batters reached base. Spencer Glaeser walked. Deryk Randt popped a ball into center just between KC Johnson and Ryan Dwyer. Brad Daak blooped a hit between Adam Gregg and Andrew Miller in right. Bryant Nordby grounded a ball half way down the third base line that went for hit as Craig Hawkinson slipped as he fielded the ball. There was no chance to get an out at home, third or first. With the bases loaded the Bruins scored the tying run when Taylor Schuette was hit by a pitch. With the infield drawn in, Chad Genz singled just pass the outstretched KC Johnson at short scoring two runs. With runners at first and second Aaron Plath bunted the runners up a base. Another ground ball down the third base line was fielded by Craig Hawkinson but his attempt to flip the ball to the catcher was late as the Bruins scored another run. After a fly out to the catcher, Spencer Glaeser was hit by a pitch loading the bases again. Deryk Randt scored the last run of the game with a base hit that was knocked down by KC Johnson behind second base.

In the bottom of the ninth with one out, the Devils got two runners in scoring position when TJ Aalid walked and Andrew Miller doubled into right center. However, the next two batters could not drive in the runs as they grounded out to the pitcher and struck out.
