By the time the second inning was over the Diamond Devils would have all the runs they would need to win the game.

The Devils were facing last year's draftee Marshall Nelson and the Devils had a one run lead after two pitches. Billy Soule liked the first pitch that he saw and drove it to the fence in right center for a triple. Craig Hawkinson drove the next pitch to center for a sacrifice fly to score Billy. Andrew Pratt walked in the next at bat. KC Johnson grounded a ball to third that was misplayed by the third baseman giving the Devils runners at first and second. Lee Gregg singled to left to score Andrew for the final run of the inning.

The Devils added four more runs in the second inning. With one out, Dan Boisclair singled to left. Billy Soule doubled into the left center gap scoring a very winded catcher. After a line out to third, Andrew Pratt singled to left scoring Billy. KC Johnson finished off the scoring with a two run homer over the left center fence.

The Red Devils broke the ice off rookie pitcher Brandon Walker in the third. Brandon did not look like a rookie pitcher in the first two innings but did with walks to the first three batters. However, Brandon did not look like a rookie as he escaped the inning giving up only one run as no ball left the infield.

The Diamond Devils picked up another run in the fourth. Andrew Pratt led off the inning with a double into the left center gap. KC Johnson drove in Andrew with a double down the left field line.

The Red Devils scored their second run of the game on a double to right center and single up the middle in the fifth inning.

The Diamond Devils got that run back in the bottom of the fifth when Andrew Miller doubled to left field. After a strike out, Billy Soule singled to center scoring the speedy Andrew with ease.

The Red Devils scored their final two runs of the game in the sixth inning ending Brandon Walker’s impressive performance.

The Diamond Devils would get those two runs back, one in the sixth and the final run in the seventh.
