For the second time within a week the Diamond Devils are victorious against the Pioneers this time 14-7.

Dan Boisclair The Devils grabbed the lead, one they would never relinquish, in the first inning. Ryan Dwyer led off the inning with a strike but would reach first as the ball got by the catcher and skipped to the backstop. KC Johnson walked and was followed by Adam Gregg who moved Ryan to third on a force out at second base. After a strike out, Andrew Pratt doubled down the right field line scoring Ryan and moving Adam to third. The final run of the inning was scored on a wild pitch.

The Devils scored four more runs in the second inning. Pat
Adam Gregg McPherson walked in the Devils first at bat of the inning. Craig Hawkinson singled to left to put runners at first and second. Dan Boisclair moved up the runners with a sacrifice bunt. Ryan Dwyer scored Pat with a sacrifice fly to right field. On the play the Pioneers tried to throw out Craig at third but the throw from the cutoff man sailed past the third baseman into left field territory allowing Craig to score easily. KC Johnson, leading the team in doubles hit another one to left field. Adam Gregg hammered his second homerun of the season to put the Devils up 6-0.

The Pioneers would close the gap in the bottom half of the second. Corey Kaminski walked and Keith Rains followed with a single to left. After a strike out, Jim Brown was hit by a pitch loading the bases. Pat McCarthy lifted a fly ball to left that cleared the fence for a grand slam.

Ryan Dwyer The Devils put the game away in the fifth inning. Leading off the inning, Andrew Pratt walked and moved up to second on a ground out to the right side of the infield in Trent Holmquist's at bat. Pat McPherson walked and moved up to second when Craig Hawkinson was hit by a pitch. With the bases loaded, Dan Boisclair walked to score Andrew. Ryan Dwyer's ground ball to third forced Pat at the plate but the Pioneers could not turn the double play as Ryan beat out the throw to first. KC Johnson plated the eventual game winning run on another double down the left field line scoring two more runs. Adam Gregg's single to left scored Ryan and put runners at the corners. With the pitcher's high leg kick Adam easily
Ryan Dwyer and Paul Kunz stole second base. A wild pitch in Lee Gregg's at bat scored KC and moved Adam up to third before Lee walked. In his second plate appearance of the inning, Andrew Pratt drove in the final run for the Devils with a base hit.

From that point on the Devils' pitchers were in command. Paul Kunz picked up the win pitching four plus innings. Adam Gregg shut down the Pioneers over three plus innings. Ryan Dwyer pitched the final inning giving up a couple of meaningless runs.
