Another midweek game and another Diamond Devils route as the Devils ten run the Mallards 11-1 in eight innings.

The Devils’ Lee Gregg started off the attack in the second inning with a double and came around on a Pat McPherson single.

The Mallards tied it in bottom half of their inning however,, the Devils came right back and scored the game winner in the third inning. With two outs Andrew Engebretson singled and scored when Adam Gregg crushed a ball down the left field line for a two run homer.

The Devils tacked on three more runs in the fifth. Matt Goodwald walked in his plate appearance. KC Johnson sac bunted to move Matt to second. Brad Mazer doubled to score KC. Andrew Engebretson followed with a towering homerun to left field.

The Devils added to more runs in the sixth. With two outs KC singled and moved up to second on a Mazer base hit. Both runners moved up on a wild pitch before scoring on an Engebretson double.

The Devils added another run in the seventh. Mike Hokanson led off with a walk. Mike was replaced by Andrew Pratt. Andrew moved up to second when Ryan Dwyer was hit by a pitch. One out later, Matt Goodwald singled to score Andrew.

The final two runs scored in the eighth. Both Mazer and Engebretson were hit by a pitch to start off the inning. Two outs later, Barry McCabbe singled to sore Brad. Andrew scored the final run on a wild pitch in the Devils’ next at bat.

Pat McPherson, for the second week in a row, pitched another excellent game. Pat gave up just one run on three hits over six innings. CJ Goodwald finished the game giving up one hit in the final two innings.
