They came out swinging and jumped to an early two nothing lead. Matt Goodwald and KC Johnson singled in their at bats. Brandon Schliinz moved them up a base on a ground out to short. Matt and KC scored on a single up the middle by Mike Hokanson.

The Devils scored their final run of the game in the second. Matt Goodwald singled with two outs in the inning. On a pick off attempt, Matt moved up to second when the pitcher’s throw went into foul territory. KC scored Matt with a single to left field.

On the pitching side, Adam Gregg retired the first seven batters he faced and was dominating. However that quickly changed as the next five batters singled en route to four Elko runs.

The next inning was disastrous, as the Devils made one error and three mental mistakes, giving Elko four unearned runs.

Elko scored another unearned in the fifth to finish off the scoring in the game, sending the Devils into the consolation bracket.
