With Delano making a come back in the sixth inning, the lights behind home plate went out and so did the rally. The Diamond Devils took control in the seventh and blew it wide open in the eighth inning.

The Devils never trailed in this game. In the second inning, Andrew Engebretson singled and Brad Mazer followed with a double down the left field line. Matt Duenwald singled to score both runners ending the scoring for the Devils.

Delano cut the lead in half in the third, when Derek Falde singled in Kevin Jaunich who led off with a walk and then stole second.

In the next half inning the Devils got back the run. Mazer led off the inning with a single. Matt Duenwald followed with a sac bunt to move Brad to second. Ryan Dwyer singled in the run to end the scoring in the inning.

In the sixth, the A’s had a runner on second when the lights went out. After a 20 minute delay, the A’s were able to score their final run of the game when Kevin Jaunich singled.

The Devils added to their lead in the seventh. With one out Andrew Pratt walked. KC Johnson singled in the next Devil at bat. After a strike out on a bad call by the umpire, Adam Gregg came through with a single to score a run. Andrew Engebretson followed with hard hit single to score the final run of the inning.

With Delano’s Jeff Janzen running out of gas, the Devils scored five runs to put the game out of reach. Matt Duenwald started the inning with a walk. Pat McPherson sac bunted Matt to second. Ryan Dwyer hit a bloop single just behind second base that did not move Matt to third. Andrew Pratt’s at bat resulted in a fielder’s choice to get Ryan at second but moved Matt to third. With two outs the Devils exploded. KC singled to score Matt. Brandon Schliinz walked to load the bases. Adam Gregg singled to score Andrew and KC. Enge walked in his at bat to load the bases again. Brad Mazer singled in the fourth and fifth runs of the inning with a single to left, finishing off the A’s.

Andrew Pratt pitched an impressive game, giving up just two earned runs over seven innings, striking out four batters while walking two. Paul Kunz finished off the remaining two innings. Avoiding a ninth inning bases loaded rally, Paul struck out the final batter of the game.
