Despite eleven hits, the Devils could only manage two runs for the game as they stranded eleven runs on base with seven in scoring position. The scoring started early for the Devils, Matt Goodwald lead off the first inning with a walk and scored in the Devil’s next at bat when Brandon Schliinz doubled into the right center gap. Brad Mazer followed with a double down the left field line to score Brandon from second. The next scoring chance for the Devils happened in the sixth but Ryan Dwyer was thrown out at the plate with a perfect throw from the center fielder.

On the pitching side, the pitchers gave up more walks than they had strike outs, which is uncharacteristic for the Devils. On the plus side, Brandon Schliinz pitched three good innings after only pitching in one game in 2005.
