The Diamond Devils come up big in the second inning scoring nine runs with two outs. The only question after the second inning was if the game would go seven or nine.

Andy Engebretson started by getting hit by a hit and after a fly out and a ground out, scored form second on a base hit from Ryan Dwyer. Ryan moved to second on a wild pitch and would score on a hit by Pat McPherson. The Diamond Devils would load the bases with a Matt Duenwald walk and Matt Goodwald hit. Two pitches later KC Johnson slapped a two run hit to left field. The Devils executed a double steal that would pay off later as Matt Goodwald scored from third on a wild pitch. The Devils would load the base again with two more walks. Adam would hit in the sixth and seventh runs with a double. Adam would score the final run of the inning on yet another Villain wild pitch.

In the next inning the Diamond Devils would score three more times. Two on a two run line drive home run to left center by Brad Mazer. The Devils would add the 13th run in the fifth inning.

For the most part, the Diamond Devil pitchers had in on cruise control with a comfortable lead. Adam Gregg picked up his first win of the season, pitching five innings giving up one run while striking out seven. Jay Homuth finished the last two innings giving up two runs.
