Delano's Jeff Janzen had stumped the Devil hitters through seven innings. Jeff pitched an excellent game moving the ball around the strike zone with good command. The Devil hitters were as cool as the weather until Craig Hawkinson broke up the no hitter with a home run into the trees in left field.

Being down by four runs going into the ninth inning, the Devil hitters started to heat up. The first three batters reached base with three hits. With bases loaded, Ryan Dwyer hit a double into the left field gap scoring two runs. Craig Hawkinson, coming off a home run the previous inning, hit a line drive into the left center gap. The Delano center fielder made a good play and Craig had to settle for a RBI sac fly. The Devils were unable to pick up another hit and the game ending with Ryan on second base.

Even though the Devils have started the season with two loses, things are looking up. Having faced some of the best pitching the Northstar League has to offer, the Devils have been in the games with make shift line-ups. All of the starters will be back for the next game.
