The Maple Plain Diamond Devils scored three runs in the top of the first and held on to win 5-1.
In the first inning, Ryan Dwyer singled to center to lead off the game. Ben Smith dropped a bunt single down the third base line to put runners at second and first. The Larks got an out on a line drive to left before KC Johnson singled sharply to left field loading the bases. Lee Gregg drove in two runs with a base hit that hopped over first base just inside the line. Luke Hagen scored KC Johnson from third on a sac fly to right field.
Adam Gregg expanded the lead with a no doubt home run to left field in the top of the fifth.
The Larks scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the fifth off the Devil’s starter Adam Gregg. Tyler Maher led off the inning with a drive that spun around the Devil’s Ryan Dwyer in center for a double. After a strike out and a Devils mental error the Larks had runners at the corners. Reed Pawelk scored Tyler from third on a base hit to right.
The Devils scored the final run of the game in the eighth. Adam Gregg started off the inning with a single to left. They found themselves with runners at the corners, after a fly out to center and error at third before a wild pitch scored the final run.
