The Diamond Devils tied the game in the top of the eighth inning but the bottom half of the inning saw the Larks put up five runs to put an end to the NSL east playoffs.

Both teams scored in the first inning. The Devils' Ryan Jakubov homered to right field. The Larks had runners at the corners and pulled off a double steal.

The Larks took the lead in the bottom of the second. Luke Steinbach tripled to right. Reed Pawelk followed with a base hit to left.

The Larks scored a couple of unearned runs in the bottom of the third. Eric Schutte started off the inning by earning a walk. Ryan Schaust's sacrifice bunt to first moved Eric to second. A deep fly ball to right allowed Eric to take third base. An error at third gave Loretto the next run. A base hit and then another error at third scored the next run.

Loretto scored their fifth run of the game in the fifth inning. Tyler Maher led off the inning with a single to right. A sacrifice bunt moved the runner into scoring position. After a strike out, Reed Pawelk doubled into the left center gap.

The Devils score three runs in the seventh inning. Tom Fisk led off the inning with a single to center. TJ Aalid followed with another single to center. A wild pitch moved both runners up a base before Matt Jakubov lined a single to left scoring Tom. On the play, the left fielder tried a shoestring catch but the ball got away from him scoring TJ and enabling Matt to move into scoring position. After a line out to second and a fly out to right, Matt Jakubov was hit by a pitch. Adam Gregg drove in the final run of the inning on a base hit to center.

The Devils tied the game in the eighth. With one out, Tom Fisk singled to center. Just like last inning, TJ followed with a base hit to center. A wild pitch moved Tom to third. A couple of pitches later, TJ stole second base. After a strike out, an error at second tied the game.

The Larks broke it open in the bottom of the eighth. Reed Pawelk led off the inning with a single to center. Nathan Maher singled to left. A sacrifice bunt moved the runners up a base. Brandon Scanlon was intentionally walked to load the bases. Kent Koch walked on four pitches to score the game winning run. Eric Schutte singled to center to score Nathan. Tyler Maher tripled to right center to clear the bases ending the scoring.
