The Devils' starting pitcher Pat McPherson was hit by a line drive and had to leave the game having faced only two batters. TJ Aalid pitched the remainder of the game and should have earned the victory but once again errors did in the Devils.

In the second inning the Mallards scored the first run. The Mallards had runners at first and second with two outs when a base hit to left was misplayed to allow a run to score.

The Mallards scored another run in the third inning. Noah Waterhouse led off with a bunt that hugged the third baseline for a base hit. Pete Harrell singled to put runners at the corners. Andy Synder flew out to right to score the run.

The Devils cut the lead in half in the fourth inning. With two outs and Kyle Tengesdul at first, Ryan Jakubov pulled an inside pitch down the left field line for a double to score Kyle from first.

The Devils tied the game in the eighth inning. Luke Hagen doubled off the fence in right center to start off the inning. Kyle Tengesdul singled to right tying the game.

The Mallards scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. An error by the Devils' third baseman put the winning run on second. The next batter grounded out to second to put the runner ninety feet away from scoring. A high fastball got by the catcher and hit the backstop to score the winning run.
