The Diamond Devils were tied with the Mound Mallards through nine and half innings when Tom Fisk came through to win the game 3-2.

The Devils took the first lead of the game in the fifth inning. Ryan Dwyer started off the inning with a walk. Jeff Pitzenberger scored Ryan from first when the center fielder tried to make a diving catch. The ball bounced to the fence giving the Devils 1-0 advantage.

The Devils' Pat McPherson had faced one over the minimum through five innings as the defense came up with two double plays. However, the Mallards broke the ice in the sixth inning. Noah Waterhouse walked and then moved up to second with a stolen base. Pete Harrell doubled to score the first Mallard run. Andy Snyder was intentionally walked before Dan Hoy's single to right scored the final Mound run.

The Devils answered in the bottom half of the inning. KC Johnson singled in the Devils' first plate appearance of the inning. KC moved up to second on a wild pitch. After a fly out and a walk, Luke Hagen tied the game with a single to right.

The Diamond Devils saved the best for the last inning. Ryan Dwyer's line drive went off the pitchers glove and landed between the mound and second base, just far enough to allow Ryan to reach first base. Ryan went on to steal second base during the next at bat before the hitter struck out. Ryan moved up to third on a ground ball out to short. Tom Fisk laced a base hit to center to score the winning run.
