The Diamond Devils found themselves in the consolation game on Sunday against a well rested Hinckley Knights team.

The game started out well for the Devils as they scored three runs in the top of the first inning. Billy Soule started off the game with a double down the left field line. Ryan Dwyer followed with a base hit to left field. Pat McPherson drove in Billy with a single to right field. KC Johnson scored Ryan with a double to right center. Lee Gregg plated the final run of the inning on a sacrifice fly to left field.

That would be the last lead for the Devils as the Knights scored the next four runs with one in the first and three more in the second. The Devils did tie it up in the third when KC Johnson was hit by a pitch and then was followed by three straight singles but that would be it as the Knights exploded in their half of the inning scoring five runs. With the game clearly in hand the Knights emptied the benches. After the Knight's Gary McFarren's base hit to right is was announced that it was Gary's sixth straight decade with a hit.
