The Riverbats came out swinging collecting 11 hits through six innings and scored three unearned runs thanks in part to four Devils errors. The Devils were able to keep it close by scoring a run in the fourth and sixth but broke it open in the seventh.

In the seventh Lee Gregg led off the inning with double to left center. An error by the second basemen allowed Craig Hawkinson in his at bat to reach first base while Lee moved up to third. Dan Boisclair scored Lee on a force out to second base. Andrew Pratt singled to put runners at first and second. KC Johnson got the game winning  hit with a double to score both runners and was able to move up to third on the throw to home. After a change of pitchers, Adam Gregg walked. Brandon Schliinz moved Adam to third as he just missed a homerun with a ball hit off the top of the fence in right field. Andrew Engebretson back from a year long hiatus flared a base hit to right to scored Adam and Brandon to end the scoring for the inning.
