The Diamond Devils scored all their runs in before the fourth inning was over and that was enough as the Devils topped the Kings 5-1.

The Devils jumped out to a first inning lead when Brad Mazer hit his eighth double of the year and Adam Gregg followed him with a run scoring base hit.

Two more runs were added in the third inning. Andrew Pratt started things off with a base hit and then stole second base. One out later, KC Johnson drove in Andrew with a base hit. After a fly out to center, Barry McCabe walked putting KC in scoring position for Brandon Schliinz who would not disappoint as he singled to score the final run of the inning.

The Devils added to the lead in the fourth scoring two more runs. With an out, Mike Hokanson was hit by a pitch. Andrew Pratt single to put Devils at second and first. Matt Goodwald singled to load the bases. Brad Mazer singled to score the final two runs for the Devils in the game.

Pat McPherson shut down the Kings as they could only manage to score one unearned run in the seven innings in which he pitched. Paul Kunz finished off the last two innings giving up no hits while striking out three batters.
