The Diamond Devils scored five runs in the second inning and cruise to an 8-2 win over Eden Valley.
 
In the second inning the Devils sent nine men to the plate. Brad Mazer led off the inning with a base hit. Matt Duenwald reached first on an error by the Eden Valley third baseman. In the next at bat, Brad and Matt moved up a base on a wild pitch. After a ground out to third by the batter, Ryan Dwyer came to the plate and wasted no time as he doubled in two runs on the first pitch in his at bat. One out later, Matt Goodwald singled in Ryan for the third run of the inning. KC Johnson was the next Devil’s batter and on a one and one count, hit a double to score Matt from first base. Adam Gregg would drive in the final run of the inning when he singled in KC from second.
 
Adam Gregg The Devils let Eden Valley hang around in the game as the bats fell silent. In the sixth inning, Eden Valley scored two runs but the damage could have been a lot worse. The inning started off with the Devil’s pitcher Adam Gregg hitting the batter and then walking the next batter. After the bad start to the inning, Adam responded by striking out the next two batters. Eden Valley then countered with three base hits in the next three at bats to score two runs. With the bases loaded Adam got the batter to ground out to third to end the inning and the scoring for Eden Valley.
 
Andrew Engebretson The Devils finished the scoring for the game in the seventh inning. Matt Goodwald started off the inning with a single. KC singled in his at bat. Adam Gregg drove in Matt with the Devil’s third straight single in the inning. Vince Reuter entered the game to pinch run for Adam. Andrew Engebretson came up next and not to be out done singled for the fourth straight time for the Devils to score KC and move Vince up to third. Eden Valley made a pitching change and on the new pitcher’s offering Brad Mazer hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Vince for the final run of the game.
 
Adam Gregg pitched the entire game for the Devils. On 123 pitches Adam gave up two earned runs on five hits, one walk, one hit batter and nine strikeouts.
