The Diamond Devils finished the Divisional playoffs with a 13-3 win over the Mound Mallards Sunday at Don Timpe field.

The Devils grabbed an early lead by scoring two runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back. In fact, the Devil’s Pat McPherson hit in the game winning run in the bottom of the third when singled in Andrew Engebretson. The Devils kept on rolling through the next three innings and built a commanding 9-0 lead by the end of the fifth inning.

The way the game was going, it looked like the game was going to be over by the seventh but Mound scored three runs in the top of the sixth when the Mallard’s Peter Sycks hit a three run homer to left field.

The Devil’s KC Johnson hit a solo homer in the bottom half of the inning for the Devils tenth runs of the game.

Matt Goodwald The game ended in the eighth inning when the Devils scored three more runs. Andrew Engebretson forced in the eleventh run when he was hit by a pitch. Dan Boisclair came up next and singled in KC Johnson and CJ Goodwald to end the game.

Adam Gregg pitched six innings for the win. For the most part, Adam dominated the game. The exception came in the sixth when he walked two batters in a row and gave up a home run. CJ Goodwald pitched a scoreless seventh and eighth to finish off the Mallards.
